Custom Racks for a Commercial Truck Fleet

We recently completed a set of bumper to bumper truck racks for a commercial fleet based in Illinois. The customer needed strong, full-length racks that could handle daily use and long highway runs. Because we build each system to fit a specific truck model, the frames follow the cab and bed lines and keep the trucks looking clean and professional. In addition, every build receives a thorough inspection before delivery to ensure consistent quality.

Full-Length Rack Features and Options

These full-length racks mount at the front frame and run all the way to the rear bumper. We use heavy-wall aluminum pipe, so the racks stay strong without adding unnecessary weight. Furthermore, plate extensions along the bed rails allow the customer to add a camper shell under the rack if they choose. Each truck includes eight auto-retracting rack straps, which help the crew secure materials quickly and keep the jobsite organized. Dealer Partnership and Fleet Logistics

This project is the fourth group of trucks we have outfitted for the same client. They purchase new Ford trucks through a local dealership here in Wilmington, NC. After the dealer prepares the vehicles, we bring them to our shop and install the bumper to bumper truck racks. Therefore, their crew can simply fly into Wilmington, pick up the finished trucks, and drive them home. As a result, the customer saves time, shipping costs, and extra coordination.

Drawings, Measurements, and Future Growth

For every fleet build, we document measurements and create drawings. That way, when the customer adds more trucks, we can repeat the design or make requested changes without starting from scratch. Meanwhile, our team also integrates steps into the front of the racks so workers can walk along the aluminum gangways and reach materials safely.
