Custom Cobia Tower for Key West Boat — Built for Comfort and Sightlines

Our team designed and welded this custom cobia tower for a Key West center console, combining clean design with functional height. The customer wanted a compact upper station that adds true offshore capability without overpowering the boat’s layout. As a result, we built a polished aluminum tower with smooth-radius corners, precise welds, and a comfortable seating setup that performs perfectly for sight-fishing and running the beach for cobia.

Upper Station with Leaning-Post Style Seat

To improve comfort, we added a leaning-post style cushion and backrest inside the tower. This provides an ergonomic stance while running in chop and a comfortable seat when glassing for fish. In addition, the seat contours follow the tower rails for unrestricted movement around the helm. The compact footprint also preserves deck space and keeps the upper station light and balanced.

Four Rod Holders Integrated into the Custom Cobia Tower

We incorporated four welded rod holders into the upper platform to keep gear organized and within easy reach. These rod holders allow anglers to keep pitch rods or sabiki setups close while staying out of the cockpit’s way. Each holder is fully welded for strength and aligned for optimal rod angles when trolling or drifting near bait pods.

Matching Marine Vinyl and Upholstery Work

For a cohesive finish, our upholstery team replaced all of the boat’s cushions to match the new tower seat. The upgraded marine-grade vinyl features detailed pleating and contrast piping for a factory-plus appearance. Moreover, the materials resist UV damage, moisture, and mildew, ensuring durability for years of offshore use.
