Powder Coated Ski Tow – Custom Ski Tows For Boats and Skiffs
Powder Coated Ski Tow – Custom Ski Tows for Boats
Custom Powder Coated Ski Tow for Skiffs
We built this powder coated ski tow for a shallow-draft skiff that spends weekends pulling tubes and riders. The owner wanted a clean look that matched the boat, along with strong tow points and open deck space. Because every project is built to fit, our team fabricated an aluminum tow bar that spans the transom, and we applied a durable powder coat finish that blends with the hull and console. As a result, the frame looks seamless and performs well in saltwater.
Aluminum Construction and Powder Coat Finish
We use schedule 40 aluminum pipe for every tow frame because it delivers strength without extra weight. After we smooth and prep the welds, we apply powder coat for a uniform, chip-resistant surface. In addition, the coating forms a hard shell that outperforms standard paint. It also lets customers coordinate colors with leaning posts, grab rails, and other hardware for a consistent look. For example, many skiff owners select white or black to match their console finish. Visit our Ski Tows Fab Talk page to see more examples.
Tow Point Height and Ladder Access
We positioned the tow point just above the motor to keep the rope clear of prop wash. Meanwhile, our crew checked motor tilt and steering travel to prevent interference with rigging. The swim ladder still works normally, so riders can climb aboard easily. Therefore, the design keeps the transom clean and gives the boat a safe, open boarding area.
Rod Holders and Extra Options
Many customers add rod holders to their tow bars for trolling or quick storage when not pulling a tube. In addition, we can install grab handles beside the ladder or at the transom for better stability. For a complete matching setup, pair your tow with a powder coated leaning post.
